Berry Update for Wed, 8/5 Open @ 10:30 w/ blueberries Petaluma Bounty 10:30 - 2:00 Next open day - Wed 8/12

Hi all,

 

We’ll have blueberries available tomorrow from 10:30 until 2:00 (or when sold out). 

 

Our next day open will be  Wed 8/12 when we bring in more blueberries.  We’ll probably have blueberries for a week  8/12 – 8/19 and then the season will be over for the year.  We’re down to waiting for our last berries to ripen in this cool, foggy weather.

 

Honey will be available on Wed if you need to stock up.  Once our stand is closed the honey will be gone too L.

 

Petaluma Bounty will be with us again with fresh produce tomorrow from 10:30 – 2:00

 

Blueberry Upside Down Crunch

3 c. fresh or frozen blueberries
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 tbsp. margarine
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
Ground nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread berries in a greased 10 inch pie pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar and nuts over the berries. Blend margarine, eggs, flour, 1 cup sugar, vanilla and lemon extract until smooth. Pour over the berries. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake 1 hour turn upside down on a plate and serve with ice cream, whipped cream or plain. Makes 6 servings.

Ice Cream Blueberry Muffins

1 pt Vanilla ice cream; softened
2 c Self-rising flour
3 tb Sugar
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1 1/2 c Blueberries; rinsed, drained

Combine ice cream and flour, stirring until batter is smooth and thick. Mix sugar with cinnamon; set aside 1 tablespoon. Sprinkle remaining mixture over batter. Gently fold in blueberries.

Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups 2/3 full with batter. Sprinkle with reserved cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Makes 12 muffins.
