Berry Update for Sunday 5/21
Hi gang,
We're closed today due to the weather :( Our harvest schedule and the weather can be quite complicated. Everything depends on the time of day, intensity of the rainfall and weather conditions. Today for example, it rained in the early morning. This is when our crew would begin (5:30/6am). We're rained out because the cardboard boxes would get wet and the fruit was drenched. Now, at 10:30AM the weather looks pretty good. But.... I have no crew to harvest AND even if I did, the unsettled weather could shut us down just as we get started. OR it could stay sunny and dry all day! AND if we manage to harvest and the weather turns bad, folks tend to stay home and wait to visit us on a dry day.
I sincerely hope the rain stays to the north and we are able to harvest as usual tomorrow morning. We have beautiful, ripe fruit ready to send home with you. We want to keep every last berry for the upcoming Memorial weekend! Rain, rain go away.
